The challenge

The SEED Center is a national resource hub connecting educators to clean-energy and sustainability curriculum, credentials, and shared materials. Its public site had aged out, and the underlying hosting had fragmented across multiple providers over the years — the domain registered in one place, the live site running in another, with orphaned dev and legacy copies scattered elsewhere.

There was no clean backup or single source of truth, which made any change risky — all while the site needed to keep serving its community without disruption.

Our approach

We started by tracing the domain, DNS, and live host to map exactly where everything lived before touching anything. We then designed and built a refreshed site on WordPress, reflecting the organization's mission and making content easy for staff to maintain.

A staging version let the client review on desktop and mobile and sign off before launch. We backed up the existing site, executed a planned early-morning cut-over to minimize disruption, and added a member-facing "Share Materials" submission tool — letting the community contribute resources tagged by sector, topic, and credential, with email routing and reCAPTCHA spam protection.

The result

A modern, on-brand SEED Center website, live on a clean and maintainable platform, with a working community resource pipeline the team can run independently. The client signed off the day after launch — the new site live and the submission feature working as intended.

The site looks great. Thanks for all of your help.
