WASTC Refresh
A focused refresh of wastc.org that put the current training schedule up front, rebuilt nine key pages on one layout, and checked the launch link by link.
The challenge
WASTC has supported Cisco Networking Academy instructors across the West since 2011 and now runs nine instructor courses across four tracks. The website hadn’t kept up.
The homepage still promoted a 2020-21 training schedule, and the current one never reached the front page. Behind it, 103 URLs had piled up in the sitemap, including earlier homepage versions and test pages.
Our approach
We started with an audit and a ranked list of fixes instead of a redesign pitch, so every change had a reason behind it. Then we designed one page system in WASTC’s own navy and typefaces and rebuilt nine pages on it inside Squarespace.
Each page opens with what an instructor needs and one clear next step. Training lays out the full 2026-2027 schedule by track, and the Resource Library gathers 209 recordings, slide decks, and documents into one searchable page.
Navigation points to a single Resources destination, and past conference pages stay online as an archive instead of being deleted.
The result
The refreshed site went live in September 2026. Around launch we crawled all 181 pages, tested 939 link destinations, and reviewed the new pages at phone, tablet, and desktop sizes.
The crawl turned up one outdated navigation link that was breaking 83 links across the site. We fixed it, then checked the course schedule and policies against the PDF that instructors download.
The homepage now opens with 2026-2027 training, and every redesigned page has its own search description plus a share image that shows up when a link is posted.
